How to open an account for children?

For children aged 7 to 14, the account can be opened remotely

Parents can open an account and order C Smart card for their kids remotely in Mobile app or Online bank.

In the mobile app, the application to open a child’s account can be found under section Cards or All accounts, by tapping the “+” icon in the top corner.

In the internet bank, the application is located under Accounts and Cards → Order a card for a child.

Open Your Child’s Account at a Branch
If the parent or legal guardian is not a Citadele customer, or if the child is 14 or older, the account can be opened at any Citadele branch.
If the child is already 14 years old, parent or legal guardian presence is required when opening the account at a branch.

Please remember to take following documents with you

• Parent’s or guardian’s passport or ID card.
• Child’s birth certificate (only up to age 16) or passport/ID card.
• Guardians must also present a court decision confirming legal guardianship or custody of the minor.

For individuals over 18 years old

If you are already 18 - apply remotely with a selfie in the Citadele mobile app and receive your C smart card without vising a branch.
