International Payments
An international payment provides the quickest and most secure means of sending money abroad. As long as you know the beneficiary’s bank account details, you can make payments to any company, individual or to an account that you hold at another bank.
The following information explains how you can send and receive payments internationally.
Sending payments
You can provide us with your instructions by using on-line banking "Citadele" internet bank, by fax (by prior arrangement only) or by visiting the nearest branch of SC "Citadele" bank.
Terms for acceptance and processing - International payments
- Standard
- Funds are debited to the bank‘s correspondent account within 2 banking days
- Urgent
- Funds are debited to the bank‘s correspondent account on the second banking day. Urgent orders in EUR, USD are accepted until 5:00 p.m., in other foreign currencies - until 10:00 a.m.
- Extra urgent
- Funds are debited to the bank‘s correspondent account on the same banking day. Extra urgent orders in EUR are accepted until 2:00 p.m., in USD – until 4.00 p.m. (payments in other foreign currency may be Urgent or Standard only).
A payment order shall be deemed received at the Bank on the day of its receipt, if the payment order was received before the moment in time specified in the Fees and Charges. If the payment order was received at the Bank after the time specified in the Fees and Charges or on a nonbanking day, it shall be deemed that the payment order was received at the Bank on the first banking day following the day of providing the payment order to the Bank. The Bank shall be entitled to debit the amount of the payment order to the Customer’s current account on the day of providing the payment order to the Bank.
Banking day means the day when the Bank carries on its activities necessary for executing a payment transaction. The Bank executes payment orders to transfer funds from one account with the Bank to another account with the Bank on a daily basis, and it executes payment orders to transfer funds to accounts with other banks on working days, when the finance (settlement) centre operates and carries on activities necessary for executing payment transactions, acting as a mediator for the Bank in providing payment services and processing data of a relevant - currency payment order.
Receiving payments
To ensure that payments from other banks are available to you in the fastest possible time, ask the sender to use an international payment. This is the most efficient, reliable and secure means of receiving money into your account from abroad. If you wish to receive funds in this way, you should ensure that the sender has your full banking details. This includes your International Bank account number (IBAN) and bank identifier (SWIFT code).
How to receive funds from abroad into your account with SC "Citadele" bank?
You should specify the following:
- Full name of the beneficiary bank’s correspondent and its SWIFT code;
- Full name of the beneficiary's bank - SC "Citadele" bank, Vilnius, LT - and its SWIFT code – INDU LT 2X;
- Your account number (IBAN) in our Bank;
- Your name and surname address / company name and address.
