Cheques
A cheque is a security ordering the bank to unconditionally pay the amount specified in the cheque to a person or an company.
When are cheques convenient to be used?
- A cheque can be a perfect alternative to the international money order because it is cheaper to acquire it than to make an international money order. Therefore it is an ideal means to make settlement for goods or services whose sums are not large.
- It is sufficient to specify the beneficiary and his/her address in the cheque therefore if you do not know the requisites of the beneficiary's bank, write out a cheque and the problem will be solved!
Collection of cheques, i.e. transferring the money to a beneficiary, takes from one to two months; therefore it is not advisable to use cheques when it is necessary to pay urgently. Kinds of cheques:
- Traveller's cheques are cheques, which can be cashed in almost all the banks of the world. They are convenient to be used when travelling. If you have traveller's cheques you are sure to avoid losses in case they are lost while travelling because cheques can be cashed only upon your arrival at the bank in person and having produced your personal documents and having signed the cheques in the presence of the bank employee.
- Commercial cheques are cheques, which are issued to a person or a company who want to pay to foreign partners, to pay for goods or services, or to hand over money to other person abroad. It has indicated concrete sum of money and a beneficiary.
