Thank you for trusting our bank – the Bank’s team is putting its every effort to sustain this trust and further strengthen our cooperation.This is to inform you of a major event for SC „Parex” bankas – restructuring and change of the name of the Latvian SC „Parex banka” group, incorporating SC „Parex” bankas, which has been operating in Lithuania for ten years.

On 23 March 2010 the shareholders of the parent bank of SC „Parex” bankas – the Latvian Government and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development took the decision to restructure SC „Parex banka“ in Latvia. The essence of restructuring process is that during the course of restructuring the assets of SC „Parex banka“ associated with the main activities of the bank shall be dissociated and a new bank shall be established in Latvia to render any and all bank services to its customers. For that purpose, the Latvia public authorities on 29 June 2010 granted the license to the newly established bank – SC „Citadele banka“, which on 30 June was incorporated with the Register of Legal Entities in Latvia.
The shareholders of the bank, where restructuring the Latvian SC „Parex banka“, decided that SC „Parex” bankas in Lithuania would also become a part of new „Citadele banka” group by conveying any and all rights and duties of SC „Parex” bankas in the manner prescribed by the laws as well as changing the name of SC „Parex” bankas to SC „Citadele” bankas.

Our cooperation

We would like to certify that changing the name of the bank will not have any effect on the customer service, will not cause any discomfort, and will not require any new formalities, since all obligations of the bank, e.g. bank account, payment card, deposit agreements, etc., will be conveyed and performed in „Citadele” bankas. SWIFT code and international IBAN account numbers of the bank will not be changed, thus, your account numbers will also remain unchanged. Moreover, you will not have to change your credit, debit, e-bank cards, and DIGIPASS code generators. „Citadele” bankas will provide full customer service and all services related agreements, including any and all rights and advantages of the customers established therein, will be automatically performed in „Citadele” bankas.
We truly believe that with a new stage of operations of the bank our cooperation will become even more successful and efficient.

Business hours and payments after changing the name

After changing the name, the bank will continue to work as usual. All cash transactions and payments will be performed, customers will be able to use ATM machines, use the payment cards, perform transactions on e-bank as they are used to. All payments and wire transfers, referred to „Parex” bankas, will automatically be transferred on your account with „Citadele” bankas. New bank name SC „Citadele” bankas will be used for local payments in Litas and international payments overseas. International payments, referred to SC „Parex” bankas, will reach the bank after changing the legal name as well.

Payment cards

All payment cards, including American Express® cards, will continue being valid until the date, indicated on the card. You will be able to use your payments cards as usual – to perform any and all financial transactions and use all advantages that you have. Your card’s PIN code will not change either. During the period until completion of formalities of changing the name of the bank, where changing the payment card due to the expiry date or loss or issuing new cards, the customers will be issued cards with the logotype of „Parex” bankas. The bank is introducing higher security card chip technology and replacement of the cards with the cards of new design will take place gradually since the beginning of 2011.


Changing the name of the bank and objectives of the bank

Introduction of a new trademark and changing of signboards in all „Citadele” bankas branches will take place until the end of this year. The name of the daughter-enterprise of the bank – „Parex faktoringas ir lizingas“ – is also changed to „Citadele faktoringas ir lizingas“.
The central aim of SC „Citadele banka” group is to promote business development and economic growth of the region, render high quality bank services, care about customers, as well as surpass their expectations. „Citadele” bankas will aim at rendering services of the highest standards to individual, corporate, and institutional customers, companies, as well as organizations.
